EMDR – trauma therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) – The method was developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro (USA) and has been used in trauma therapy since the early 1990s. During an EMDR treatment, the client follows the therapist’s fingers or a pen with their eyes while the therapist moves their hand alternately to the right and left. By stimulating certain regions in the brain, your own self-healing powers are reactivated and blockages are released. This allows the organism to process stressful and traumatic memories better. This method is successfully used for conscious and unconscious emotional blockages as well as for post-traumatic stress disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder and phobias.
